About
PTSO stands for Parent Teacher Student Organization
We are committed to the enrichment and betterment of the high school by supporting students, staff and parents. We raise money to help subsidize school events and other activities that enhance the High School experience.
A Message from the PTSO Co-Presidents
Hello, JDHS parents and caregivers!
We’re excited to be on the PTSO board this year and to help our students have a rewarding experience at JDHS.
A little about us:
Heather is a mom of two daughters in 11th and 8th grade, the former president of Caldwell PTA, and the chief administrative officer for JC Decaux, an advertising agency in New York City.
Kara is a mom of two daughters—a 2023 JDHS graduate and a 10th grader—as well as a former FMG PTA board member and a director of communications at Prudential in Newark.
We understand the demands on everyone’s time. The PTSO differs from the parent-teacher organizations in elementary and middle school in that we’re focused less on events and more on fundraising efforts.
PTSO fundraising priorities:
Student of the Month awards and scholarships for seniors
Project Graduation, the end-of-year event for graduates
Grants for teachers to put toward educational items
Bolstering class budgets for the freshman, sophomore and junior classes
Teacher appreciation events
Your participation is vital, and any assistance you can provide is greatly appreciated! We also welcome your suggestions for ways to enrich our students’ experiences.
Please email ptso07081@gmail.com to let us know we can count on your support and to share your ideas.
Thank you, and here’s to a great year!
